Yup, you may have thought this series was dead, but it’s alive and kicking! Which is more than I can say with confidence for many of the ‘people’ encountered in this game…
As you might have noticed, there was no Minecraft video up yesterday and unfortunately, I won’t be putting up my regular post today either, because this cheeese toastie has been super busy as of late and I’m trying to give myself a little downtime this week. The good news though, is that I will hopefully be putting up that Minecraft video later today (or tomorrow morning for those of you in the UK) and the video that’s supposed to be going up tomorrow should be going up as usual! As for the blog post, that should be out this weekend when I’ve got a bit more time to write it. So basically my schedule for posting will be a little scattered this week, but it’ll all get there! Next week, everything should return to normal.
If you follow me on Twitter, you might have heard that CheeeseToastieandVideoGames now has over 100 followers! To celebrate this exciting milestone, I’ve decided to hold a giveaway (of a recent game this time – it may SHOCK you INFINITELY. Get it? Shock you… it’s BioShock Infinite ok?) and write a special blog post for you guys. I wanted to do something a little different for the post, so what I’ve decided on is a sort of Q&A where I answer any questions you guys have for me, whether it’s about myself, how to land games magazine internships, what it’s like working for at a games magazine or anything at all! Obviously if you’re going to ask me embarrassing or super personal questions I’m probably not going to pick those, but other than that I’ll answer pretty much anything! Feel free to get creative – it doesn’t just need to be about games. Depending how many there are, I’ll probably just pick a few and focus on those. You can email me the questions at firstname.lastname@example.org, or tweet them to me at @CheeeseToastie or just leave them as comments to this post. I’ll give it until Friday, so make sure to send them in soon!
At last, my first commissioned PC Gamer article (i.e. I got paid)! Awww yeah! Anyways check it out here if you want. It’s a round-up of some recent mods, texture packs and maps for Minecraft that stood out for me, so not the best mods, maps, etc… of all time (there are separate PC Gamer articles for that). Here’s an extra screenshot for you:
UPDATE: Didn’t realise until I was flicking through the newest issue of PC Gamer (February) that my review on the multiplayer first person shooter Primal Carnage is in the magazine (I wrote it during my internship). Double woot! If you get your hands on the newest issue remember to check me out on page 95!
Hello! Just a short post today to let you guys know about a new page I’ve added to my blog called ‘Work’ – you can probably see the tab I’ve added to the top of the page. I’ve decided I’m going to post links to articles I write for PC Gamer or anyone else here so that you can have a looksee if you want. I just started so I don’t have much to put up yet, but here’s a link to a short news article I wrote while I was working as an intern there. It’s old news and just a short piece, but I figured I’d put it up anyway. It might be fun to have a look at again a few years on!
Also, to update you on the video front, I’ve closed the poll and as you may know, the favourite was… AMNESIA! Yup, so I’ve almost got everything I need set up to record me scaring the shit out of myself except a webcam, so you’ll be able to see my face while I do it! I should be able to put out the video sometime next week, so keep checking back!
